I’m trying to figure out how to send $6000 from my Chase bank account to my wife’s Chase account for our income tax payment and the answer is to either:
- Write a free paper check
- Send $2000 for 3 days through Zelle
- Pay $25 for a wire transfer

Yes, but the rest of the world also has much better protection for the consumer when fraud happens, no? I’m not an expert in this area anymore so just a genuine question. Definitely sympathize with your frustration and wish the limits were much, much higher.

Other countries typically have stronger consumer protection and use more secure payment methods, so there is less fraud overall. Though few have a customer experience that's on par with the ease of credit card payments in the U.S. It's effectively a cost <> ease tradeoff.
