What’s the reason for San Jose to be an appendix line as opposed to a through station? Seems inefficient
Faster SF-Sac trip times, much easier mountain crossing than Pacheco, easier timetabling on the Peninsula.
Interesting. I sort of expect the traffic between San Francisco-San Jose would make a direct line there worth it, considering the industries are more similar/connected than SF-Sacramento.
There's already Caltrain express trains, and HSR can't run much faster.
Got it. And why have a Redwood City (?) and Pleasanton (?) station? Especially the former seems very close to SFO and served by Caltrain.
