I agree we in Germany are at a terrible position. But only one country (a small one as well) could broker a data deal as Israel did. So it is not that other countries could have replicated this even if they wanted to.
I don’t agree at all. It was obvious a year ago that we’d get into the situation we are in now unless governments understand the economics of vaccine protection. There were many good proposals – will share below – and we could have very much avoided getting to where we are.
Still only the US and Israel managed to meaningfully deviate from the globally slow ramp. Unless you say that all governments are stupid (say Canada, Japan, Australia), I don't think you have a point.
The crisis has shown that many (European) governments are pretty incompetent tbh
