It's pretty clear that the 'stories' format has become an ubiquitous UX pattern that works *very* well for image/video, and belongs to nobody anymore easy to forget that patterns like infinite scroll/pull to refresh started out the same way and are practically the default now

Easy to hate on new Stories formats like Fleets (IMO it's good) but it's a sign that the format has transcended any one company owning it, and that users *get* what it's for regardless of where it shows up

Stories are great for visual/ephemeral content Timelines are great for text, links, other long-lived media What's wild is that we finally figured out a way to make two vastly different types of content co-exist without having to water down one of them

Very curious to see if fleets will take off. Feel like Snapchat and Instagram always were a natural home for visual/ephemeral content, in a way that Twitter never was.
