Why dissuade people from voting if the alternative is a fascist? This is not about being open minded, it’s about not wanting to kill democracy

I think being open to criticism would help the democrats. Self censorship might lead people to vote the other way. I also think these hyperboles (fascist) don’t help and create even more polarization.

I also didn’t get the American conservatives for a long time, but after reading more American history I start to understand it more (still not my ideology).

The “being open to criticism” thing was tried in 2016 and lead to the NYT covering Hillary’s emails more than anything else, so I think we have plenty of proof it doesn’t actually bring in voters or informs the debate
