One QoL improvement I've made during SIP (that I'll probably miss when things go back to normal) is taking 30m to cook and have a real lunch with my spouse (and blocking off time on calendar), instead of grabbing a sandwich and jumping on next call.

See, there is no reason you can’t block lunch on your calendar when back in the office. Might have to trade your spouse for friends though

In general, the stereotypes of Europeans going out for a 2h lunch with wine and Americans eating a ham/cheese sandwich at their desk are more true than I previously realized

I mean, is it really a good lunch if you didn’t have some wine? Don’t think so https://www.france24.com/en/20190326-france-alcohol-recommendation-campaign-daily-intake-wine-french-culture-drinking … https://www.rtl.fr/actu/politique/je-bois-du-vin-midi-et-soir-macron-exclut-tout-durcissement-de-la-loi-evin-7792401192 …pic.twitter.com/AGCBiJTTV1

Even when I was in China, people taking 1-2h after lunch to nap and watch TV seemed luxurious. I tried to power through it and work.

Yeah, 2h with wine is seen as excessive now, but you definitely still take 45-60m to go get something nice outside the office
