We have lived in the US for 18 months now and had to deal with more fraudulent charges on our cards and bank accounts (about $2000
) than in the previous 30 years of living in Europe (a nice round $0).
I just don’t understand everyone is ok with this broken system.

Just be prepared to have 80s flashbacks when you get cheques in b2b transfers in 2020. My previous vague recollection with a real live cheque was being angry with an elderly person taking 5+ minutes in a supermarket in 1994 to pay with it (opposed to debit or cash)
