The treasury department released a bunch SBA Paycheck Protection Program Loan Data today - I've loaded the most interesting data (the $150,000+ loans) into a Datasette here: https://sba-loans-covid-19.datasettes.com/loans_150k_plus/foia_150k_plus …

I made it searchable by business name - here's a search for "trump", though I don't think any of these companies are associated with /that/ Trump family: https://sba-loans-covid-19.datasettes.com/loans_150k_plus/foia_150k_plus?_search=trump&_facet=LoanRange&_facet=State&_facet=BusinessType&_sort_desc=JobsRetained&_facet=Gender&_facet=RaceEthnicity …

You can also filter by city - here's everything with city = SAN FRANCISCO ordered by JobsRetained (which seems to be capped at 500 in the data) https://sba-loans-covid-19.datasettes.com/loans_150k_plus/foia_150k_plus?City=934&_facet=LoanRange&_facet=BusinessType&_facet=Gender&_facet=RaceEthnicity&_facet=Veteran&_sort_desc=JobsRetained …pic.twitter.com/OA0BfpNNIy

Only companies with fewer than 500 employees were eligible for the Paycheck Protection Program, hence the cutoff in the data

In that case it's super-interesting how many companies claim to have exactly 500 "jobs retained" https://sba-loans-covid-19.datasettes.com/loans_150k_plus/foia_150k_plus?_sort=rowid&JobsRetained__exact=500 … - 3,037 of them!

Ha! Would love to see a distribution curve for the jobs retained numbers
