Clearly should have added DC for politics and there is a good case for the beach/fashion influence of Miami, though I wonder how much of that has been replaced by LA. Some suggestions for Boston (schools) and Seattle (tech), but not sure about their broader influence

I’d go
New York
Los Angeles
Washington DC
San Francisco
Miami
Boston
Chicago -
I guess politics in DC counts. I thought about Miami but couldn’t quite put my finger on what influence they have. And what about Boston?

1. LA 2. NYC 3. Miami 4. SF 5. DC ... 25. Chicago

LOL, why does Chicago rank so low? Corporate HQs, management consultants, and the Chicago School count for something

I’d keep NYC 1, then do LA 2 (media, fashion, entertainment), SF/Bay 3 (FB, GOOG, Uber, etc . . .bastion of LGBTQ thought leadership), Seattle 4 (Amazon for consumer dominance, MSFT for business and edu prevalence) and Atlanta 5 (hotbed of rap music, home to CNN, black Hollywood)

I like the addition of Atlanta. Not sure when the last time was anyone ever referenced Seattle though.

Baltimore for the Wire

Wire was a strong influence for sure, but anything beyond that to sustain it?
