Log scale jumps in factors of 10, so 10/100/1000/etc. These are used to show whether growth is accelerating or decelerating. A straight line means constant growth. In this case, everyone is on the same growth path to follow Italy.
yes - log scale is useful for showing exponential growth because the bigger numbers end up being so much bigger that you then lose resolution on the smaller ones and it's hard to interpret. but slight correction, i think? a straight line means exponential growth which is scary
Ah true, constant growth rate (in this case (~33%) resulting in exponential growth of the absolute number
