The most I made as an employee was 31200 a year, I would take the huge amounts that are named with a little grain of salt - yes you are worth it, but there is a handful that will pay that. I think @paul_v_m should weigh in on this, I think Paul knows better about € in the west

I feel like I make a comfortable living, but some of these US salaries are blowing my mind. I wonder what the catch is, is housing that much more expensive? Is it because of the health care? Or are they really just making it rain?

I’ve been assuming it’s - health care - lack of social welfare - the right to work state laws so you have zero job security Which all means you need to earn more and save more. I wonder how much of a monthly US paycheque is after bills and savings and all that jazz.
