Very reassuring letter from the Dutch Immigration service sent to all Brits in Netherlands outlining what will happen in case of No Deal. Temporary residence letter to be sent out immediately after #Brexit day, then invited to apply in batches for a residence permit.
This sucks massively for you and the uncertainty is terrible, but it is 100% a problem caused by the UK. However, I would have expected the Dutch government to say: Anyone who was here already at time of notification can stay.

It is a problem caused by them for sure, but Europe has utterly failed at coming up with much in the way of explaining anything, even if it's just "sorry, you have to leave"
-
Which is unfair and frustrating, but also *because* the UK has refused to do so for EU citizens there — which means it’s still part of the negotiation

What are actually the requirements for staying? From a quick Google search it looks like everyone at time of notification can actually stay for now

I had read it that way, but now I'm re-reading it it seems that at the end of the transition period, to qualify for residence you would have to meet the normal EU PR conditions like having been in NL for 5 years. What happens to those who haven't?
