There are meetings that require you listen to learn and others that you listen to provide feedback. I've found when listening as a mentor there is an increase in my productivity to provide value when heads down making notes on phone or computer vs watching and getting distracted.

I would argue that making notes on paper provides significantly more focus and presence than doing so on a phone or laptop

the new ipad pro + pencil setup is awesome and gives you the best of both worlds! Just have to remember to turn off all your ipad notifications.
