Why is it a concern if someone is using the public space as a business model if that improves quality of life at large? It’s not like cars are paying for their externalities

I'm also yet to see any evidence of improving living standards. They are however extracting a shitload of wealth for a 10 minute ride someplace on a scooter maintained by anyone but the company.

People pay for scooters because it’s easier to get around than public transport. The alternatives are either cars (large, deathly, and polluting), bikes (which nobody has) or walking (free but apparently not an option). What’s the scenario where it reduces living standards?
