Our paper on a newly discovered choanoflagellate that forms contractile multicellular sheets is now published . So nice to see one of our beloved organisms on the cover! [insert a pun here about covers and sheets]

knows no border. This is us 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇹🇷🇮🇹 . Today is a good opportunity to remind ourselves of how wonderful modern science is. I am thankful for the past generations who have built the 🇪🇺, which makes all this possible .

    - not to say that it's never correct. It remains plausible for the origin of animals, for example, though no one knows quite either the exact minimum level required, or when it was first reached.

Indeed a surprisingly fun and fascinating read. (Also a confirmation of the law that, if an evolutionary event is worth explaining at all, somebody at some point will have proposed "changing oxygen levels" as a hypothesis.)
