Is there more of this? I'm curious how we get from the Wired being an "upper level of" the physical world to "Physical reality is nothing but a hologram," if it's the case that the Wired's content has to have *some* point of origin outside itself.

I haven't finished the show yet, so there are sure to be more revelations to come. The same episode (5) suggests that the Wired may have begun with telephones and radios. But at some point the hierarchy of worlds became reversed, and the Wired now determines our own world.

Yes. Thank you. Your comment reminds me some of Neil Postman's (pre-Internet!) work on Information's supplanting of News such that, whereas at one time we could sort out important from unimportant, there's now a kind of leveling of data into sameness.

It was the original cyberpunk show, doesn't cut corners or tries to be condescending with the viewer. Gotta take it all in, and it gets more intense with every episode.
