Absolutely, the bad rhizome takes are astounding. Ironically, Deleuze & Guattari were the first to see this potential reading and cut it off: “Never belief that a smooth space will suffice to save us” (ATP).

True. I read Deleuze and Guattari from time to time and never have once found what their critics claim.

Agreed. For the politically committed, the point isn’t to apply the terms with a moral judgement attached. It’s instructive to see how rhizomatic structures differ from arborescent ones, or how nomads escape state control, even if networks or Genghis Khan aren’t 100% admirable.
