NEWS: further update on BBC Newsline's switch to BBC Reith. The DOG's disappearance was only temporary. It has now reappeared - but now positioned top right of screen. When it was bottom left, it was considerably less annoying than it is now.pic.twitter.com/Bv5bCByyte

It's certainly rather annoying. The DOG first appeared on Tuesday 7th May 2002 - it seemed like a copycat thing at the time - just because UTV introduced one. Pointless. Why Newsline thinks it's special and needs a DOG, I have no idea.

Well, I live in hope that something crazy might happen - i.e., common sense might actually prevail. They did at least turn down the brightness of the DOG.
