I don't think banning games or slowing down approval processes for earning money off them will fix game addiction, or even help.

Well the Chinese government appears to think so. They want to shrink the industry and slow it down so that’s its easier to regulate. Sucks for Tencent I guess, especially after Pony Ma had to go to Yan’an to play cosplay, but that’s how it works.

Can confirm; had a friend in app dev in China and they will buy absolutely everything. If your game is even a minor hit it’s a goldmine. Also had a co-worker spend 100,000rmb on DotA2 costumes over a couple years. Absolute insanity.
