How about "let people do whatever the hell they want with their bodies.."

Even if the government doesn't get involved, there's always cultural trends. Say Thailand vs. Europe.
-
Yeah, I'm not talking about government. People can be what people wanna be, if they let me be what I wanna be.
-
You might not be interested in social engineering, but social engineers are interested in you.

I have no idea what that means.

it's a Trotsky quote

Why is "crush its public face, passively allow its private face" not an option?
-
Not a stable equilibrium, as we've seen.
-
The West? Even China backed down from a ban on homosexual speech in social media.
-
Allowing it in private, disallowing/regulating it in public hasn't been formally tried as far as I know, and most people have a view of homosexuality similar to this.
-
Didn't Russia mostly do that? Ban public promotion but nothing else.
-
Currently it is surprisingly stable. It may be effect of banning full spectre of bio-leninst activities (roughly the only way to get status is to get rich). You don't need radical measures if you apply roughly the same pressure everywhere. Probably harder than it sounds, though.

Gays are a signaling hazard. If you have gay parades, will lose wars.

Homosexuality is better understood as a virus than anything else. When not actively repressed, it will subvert social structures and propagate via child abuse, while spreading diseases. Even w/o religious prohibitions, stopping homosexuality is a moral & public health imperative
-
It also grows exponentially when unchecked
-
It very much doesn't grow exponentially. Certainly not among men.
-
Certainly the pool of “active” homosexuals is constrained by normal revulsion at the behavior, while “passive” by the copious drug use required to initiate and sustain it. Can’t be exponential
