So the hot topic right now is an article in China calling for establishing mandatory savings accounts to pay for childcare. All workers will be deducted some amount, and the account will only be available after having a second child. So basically a childless tax.

It just seems inefficient to punish families for having both more and less than two kids, especially if this is across the board for all Han citizens. Maybe I'm too white to understand this level of central planning.

Punishment for over 2 kids would be abolished under the plan.
