The precedent of Chinese foreign outreach is the Soviet Union's foreign clients. They were all a complete waste of money. Cuba alone cost billions. Soviets spent blood and money on Africa too for no good reason. Let alone Afghanistan. Communism decision making likely similar.

The United States did the same thing during the Cold War. Does a lot of it still. Britain maintained colonies all over the world during its imperial peak. It has nothing to do with communism.

The Romans had colonies in many more places than they “needed”. The people who didn’t always want to expand didn’t leave any descendants.

I’m guessing you want America to expand, because you’re American, so you’re ridiculing China’s expansion efforts. I don’t know you, but that’s what it soudns like. That sort of criticism is also proof that what the Chinese doing is natural.

I'm not American. Chinese expansion efforts have been dumb. I actually wish China had a proper strategy to confront the US instead of just wasting money.
