My older brother is gay so he paved the way for it to be such a non event in the family. My mum just asked me one day in the car and that was that. I had been going out and clubbing in the months before and I think my brothers friends had let them know.

Told my mum first, she was fine with it and finished off my sentence. My dad didn’t like it but has mellowed. My mother since then has called me every gay insult under the sun in arguments so we no longer talk, I don’t need that in my life anymore.
