I've been thinking a lot about listening to homeless people. While I still feel it's vital, homeless people have been saying the same things: "we need housing" "shelters suck" "services suck" "sweeps destroy lives" "treat us with dignity" "we need housing", yet NOTHING changes.

Remaining questions include: (1) what are housing outcomes after program exit? (2) do youth increase employment and income while in program? (3) does their quality of life improve across other domains, including physical, mental, and behavioral health?

We’re evaluating the Rising Up program—RRH for young adults in San Francisco—and here are two important things we found in documenting the program model: (1) youth are choosing housing units that keep them close to and show their desire to live near family and friends;
