Should esports "talent" be required to play the game they want to work with to be considered ?

It's always obvious when they don't or haven't played the game

Exactly, if you work in a Nike store you don't have to wear all Nike, but you do have to be invested enough in the product to be able to sell to the costumer

Some of the beat sports commentators never played the games they callled, but, they certainly understood the games in great detail. They are there because their voices are superior in delivering the information

Makes me so mad when a caster makes a comment on why a team is doing something when they have the entire idea behind the play wrong.

I donno about that. RedEye and Machine did a great job at the DotA 2 international with their inexperience with the game.

Two of the best commentators in the industry. Both prepared adequately to do very well.

There is a lvl of understanding to games you commentat compaired to "filling in" on desk. Nouthing turns people off of watching events faster then a broadcast team tgat has no clue bout what there watching. Having 1know the game and 1understand the game makes greak viewing p1

Because then 1 is usualy askn questions like a casual/new player would think and the other is usualy giving the pro/experience amswer to situations in game
