Good on you for standing your ground. Hopefully I'll be there one day. I've yet to make any $$ in esports. So it's been a labor of love. Esports is still trying to evolve passed it's grassroots of the early years. But there are some people who are still stuck in the past.
If you have to work for free to find work, keep on doing you Saint. Doesn't justify your position that others should not expect to be compensated for their time and efforts!

I don't work for free anymore unless I want to cast something for practice (ie gll qualies or a scrum) but the reality is that it's borderline impossible to begin with paid work unless you have friends in high places

Also would like to stress I'm not saying you should work for free (and thus not saying you shouldn't expect to be compensated), rather that I think there are situations where uncompensated work is still worth doing
