If you think your job is ever guaranteed or you are owed a heads up that your organization is looking to replace you then you will benefit from real world experience Don’t be disillusioned. Esports is a business not a social club. Always protect yourself and have a backup plan.pic.twitter.com/6NwG8WKLWN

In the real world, at least the real world that I worked in before getting into esports: I respected people I worked with enough to confront performance or personal issues and tried to solve them or at least make sure everybody understood that there was a problem.

Sure, this happens a lot and is a good approach at a great company or business but again isn’t guanranteed and sometimes you’re out with nothing more than a notice.

So coming from one of the well respected organizations, or businesses, in esports... this shouldn't apply to them? Should they be considered one of the shadier orgs since they knowingly signed him to a temporary contract without informing that party?

I’ll draw a comparison to traditional sports teams. If you still feel this way then I don’t know what to tell you.

If you think esports is actually at the point of traditional sports... then I dont know what to tell you. And I'd like to think respect would go a long way. I guess not to everyone. If you want to create this atmosphere for players.. go for it. But it won't be pretty

It’s not but the orgnanization dynamic is extremely similar in terms of acquiring and letting go of players.

I'm not intentionally being combative, but in traditional sports when you sign a contract and a team no longer wants you, it doesn't void your contract (usually). They either have to buy you out, or trade you to another team. If Lobes' contract expired, that would be different.

I’m not sure what your point is. Never once have I talked about voiding contracts. Sure, you get a payout under your contract if you’re dropped prematurely but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the axe at any time without notice, which was what my tweet was about. Be prepared!

Have I once said anything in support for this way of handling things? (Hint: I haven’t.) Read more carefully next time please!
