I think the more appropriate comparison would be to a traditional sports team. An org isn’t going to tell a player on their team they were their 2nd choice or being replaced. This is where it lands on the player and agent to assess the situation and it’s volatility.
Does it suck? Of course. Did they do anything inherently shady? No not really. Where C9 could have improved on is having tryouts or the wishes of the team confidential so that doesn’t get back to your 4th player and affect performance.
Problem I really have here is the fact that you see this distasteful crap happen behind closed doors in PUBG way to often. This is not the way you build an industry to sustain or support a 5+ year plan. One day the players will see that :)
