It's not a big deal to change a throwaway line in an article that isn't even about your phone. You're just not exactly an unbiased source and I was trying to have a dialog about it.

Binary modules and firmware blobs are bad and a concern, we should ideally not have them on or devices. Criticism for that is valid. However, casual GNU/Linux desktop/laptop users may want to ls /lib/firmware/ and asks some hard questions before being too critical of Pinephone.

If people start seeing wifi/lte radios as a measure for openness of a platform then we can never call anything as open source device. Open source according to me 1. build and program boot loader with source 2. kernel src with no binary blob 3. App + src 4. Sch,Gerber,3D Dwg,BOM
