would you like to hear a happy story about what happened when my trans student took his Senior pictures in school yesterday? Ok, cool. Here goes:

I worry about her campaign for this very reason. It's going to attract the worst of the "Pocahontas" crowd and could result in stronger adherence to the "DNA is Native identity" crowd. Bad, bad, bad for sovereignty.

I love Warren's economic politics and I'd love to vote for a fellow Okie; also, she still *refuses to meet with the Cherokee Nation*, suggesting she doesn't grant them sovereignty over what it means to be Cherokee. This is what settler colonialism means.

one thing to be super thankful for in 2019: says he's leaving HRC. Funny how the name Susan Collins doesn't appear on this press release!

I've written a lot about my identity; this might be the weirdest. I'm no longer convinced my family was Ukrainian; linguistically and religiously, we were more likely Volga Germans. But hey, I'm still Ukrainian in my heart.

The Liz Warren Cherokee controversy isn't going away. America's original sin was not taking land, it was denying native sovereignty. Hey libs: you're still doing it.

Happy 2019, you guys. All tweet threads this year should end with Cher from whom I am absolutely, 100%, descended from:

My inheritance is this: a commitment to investigating the truth, especially my own. These tacos were good by the way. This was 2016, in Talihina, prepared by a Choctaw church youth group. If you look online, some people report my grandfather is Choctaw. Nope.

This time of year sucks ass: I hate it so, so, so much. Everyone is with family, and I'm not. Yes, I think of suicide every year. Yes, I phone a friend every time, and it helps. This time of year, you think about things like: to whom do I really belong? What is my inheritance?

Identity is weird, sis. It's not true for NDNs, but, if you're LGBT, there's only one entity that can decide that, - and that's you. I am sooooooo gay. This was the last selfie I took in 2018:

I will continue stomp dancing with Cherokees; also, I'll soon be making a commitment to dance for 4 years at Tvllahassee, a Creek stomp dance grounds and one of my favorite places on earth. But: this doesn't make me either Cherokee or Creek.
