Border Patrol fought against the release of these images, but the court unsealed them anyway.
These are probably not the worst images. AFTER the court ordered Border Patrol to turn over videos from inside the facilities, they destroyed some of them. The court gave Border Patrol a slap on the wrist.
So how are things now, under Trump? Well, check out this govt report from DECEMBER 2017. The Dept of Homeland Security did a surprise inspection of 5 ICE detention facilities for immigrants. They found rotten food, mold, delayed medical treatment, and intimidation of immigrants:

In other words, this Congressionally required annual report has never been released during the Trump administration.
