You can also follow https://pop-planet.info/forums/forums/project-updates.28/ … if you want weekly updates. Or our GitHub & Launchpad. There is no Snap plan, as far as I know. Only Flatpak, unless elementary decides to support both.
That sounds serious, but I guess it's something that can be modified and it's safe enough. Do you have a place where you can read about that? ... otherwise it sounds like FUD. (distrust in the linux foundation?)

Of course, general data can be used as a promotion... Can you assure that they are specific and not anonymous data?, but it is very different to allude as an argument to possible information leaks, when the system seems to be safe enough (hey, it is also opensource!)
