i know some folks are committed to misunderstanding me. i am not interested in taking down individual rapists. i'm interested in building structures that promote safety + accountability. i'm interested in answering the question: how do we prevent this from happening again?
it’s hard to ignore the comments + crude jokes. some folks are now calling my assaults into question. and i am not interested in proving that I was raped. I have shared specific information when I have found it to be relevant + useful for increasing safety.
i want those who have abused their power to be constrained in their ability to do so + i want survivors to have access to community-based models of safety, healing, and justice. i want the level of support that i've had to be available for everyone.
i asked folks to give to a few specific Black-led, abolitionist antiviolence groups because i believe those are the folks building the community-based models that we need. my ask has been dismissed as "identity politics," but it was always about safety.
