For me compassion starts by acknowledging 2 universal truths: 1/you didn’t chose your life, your genes, your birth date nor the fact that we need to drink water ect...2/ we are emotional creature, Though our lives are different, we all experience it through emotions.
Compassion doesn’t say, “I’m with you because I pity you” or “because I feel sorry for you.” Instead the message of compassion is an acknowledgment of our shared humanity. It says, “I’m with you because I am you - I recognize you in me, and me in you. And we’re in this together.”
