The Howards paid a terrible price for their faith. The 3rd Duke spent many years in the Tower, his son was executed by Elizabeth, and lost his Dukedom while his son died in the Tower. (His son rescued the family fortunes by marrying Bess of Hardwicke's granddaughter)

Absolutely awful news. I visited Arundel when I was a teenager and seeing the rosary really moved me. I really hope by some miracle it is recovered.
