I live in this district and am infuriated. There is no excuse for punishing kids like this. Our property taxes are among the highest in the state. The school superintendent’s salary is $175k a year. I’m looking into organizing protests @CherryHillTwp.

I haven’t mailed in my ballot for local school board members or mayor of Cherry Hill yet. And I’ll be contacting each of them for their positions on this before I fill in my ballot.pic.twitter.com/Hvxl8c3z49

I live in California and our state just mandated that ever child be give the same lunch whether they can or can not afford it. No one is made to feel less than another child! I lived in Texas and elementary kids there had hands stamped if they couldn’t afford food. Sad!

I grew up in California and was one of those kids in the 80s. If it weren’t for the free lunch program there would’ve been days that my sister and I wouldn’t have eaten at all. We both are successful now but you never know how much those programs impact kids lives. So Awesome.

@ChpsTweets why are you punishing & shaming the children. I'd like to help pay off their lunch debt but it seems you don't want assistance. Cc:@Surfin_392pic.twitter.com/WEW6S8nIhX

Just goes to show this is absolutely nothing to do with money. I bet if every child had their lunch paid annoymously until the end of the year, there would still be reasons to make the students feel bad about their life. School should be a place all students feel enabled.

This will also negatively impact college admissions and scholarship awards for poor students. Forcibly keeping the cycle in place. Gross.pic.twitter.com/qiA4oQQCTo

I will bet my last dollar that students who are varsity athletes and have lunch balances will not be prohibited from playing on their respective Cherry Hill East or West High School athletic teams. I guess that’s when Principal discretion kicks in.

Schools bend over backwards for athletes. My sister was required to give a makeup test for a football player because he was out playing. Fair enough, sick kids get the same privilege. ...when he flunked that, she was told to give him another makeup test.
