While I agree with the premise of this article, it could use a little tweaking. 1) Sen. Ted Kennedy spearheaded the Civil Rights Act of 1964. JFK was assassinated in 1963. 2) Barry Goldwater's few wins in 1964 set the stage for the Southern Strategy and should be mentioned.
