Unanimously? You mean, like, both Republicans and Democrats... agreed? Jesus, that’s radical!

The day I turned 18 in MA, I went to a fire station to fill out my voter registration form, and felt excited and grown up, but I would have happily foregone that feeling in favor of automatic registration. Well done to my home state, let's hope others follow your example!

You can still get that feeling by voting.

We had: National Voter Registration Act of 1993, designed to reverse declining voter registration by allowing voters to register at motor vehicle departments. Did it get killed by SCOTUS?
-
I believe what happened here in MA is that we are switching from an Opt-In to and Opt-Out. The default is now "Yes" instead of "No".

California already does this.

Add voter reg to other services that are used as proof of residency. Bank accounts, utilities, credit cards, cell phone & cable services. All these services use the same personal validations that voter reg requires. Companies should be offering this as an added service.
