OK, then, please show us one of his cartoons in which he depicts a white man or woman as grotesquely as he does Serena. If you can, then I'll be convinced. What good does it do to demonize ANYONE of any color or gender? Making anyone look so unflattering is an act of bullying.

Gil. I’m not defending him. Im not saying the cartoon was good. However he did this cartoon a while back.pic.twitter.com/OFtoqEWklK

2/2 We as people of color in US are extra sensitive (with good reason) these days, given a white supremacist-friendly "president" and the spike in hate crimes and police brutality against us. Some of us see a depiction like this, of a beloved icon, as adding fuel to racist fire.
-
Good explanation look at his work he is not a racially motivated. I think Serena is all about Serena and not a very good role model.
-
Maybe not now, but the value of her inspiring so many working class girls of color to take up tennis -- a sport to which they had little or no access -- is immeasurable. Even Osaka described Serena as her idol. Regardless, she didn't deserve to be caricatured as a monster.
-
Sorry Serena about Serena and there is nothing working class about her. There are better role models and sports. I hate her playing the Race card it really takes away from people who have a real problem.
-
Actually Serena is an excellent role model. There are millions of folks watching and playing tennis that would not have ever before Venus&Serena. Interrogate why you actually feel that way...

Wow thats great we going have a whole lot of asdults acting like 2 year olds

This is why
#Australia continues to lag other industrialized nations when it comes to laws and regulations that look to deconstruct institutionalized racism. @knightcartoons -
Mark Knight doesn't speak for the majority of Aussies. His cartoons are divisive just like fox news in the US. It's better to call out right-wing populism and the owner of these media companies, Murdoch. He is the one pushing the narrative worldwide.
-
There’s some truth in that, but it omits the majority of Australian commentators who ignored the racism and sexism in the umpire’s actions, and the fact we had Bannon on the ABC last week and PHON in parliament. Racism is more institutional than we’re comfortable admitting here
-
Not to mention the state of affairs with the Aboriginal tribes and the long abuse of racism there.
-
I moved here just after a landmark royal commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. Nearly 30 years later, none of its recommendations have been implemented. The country has gone backwards in many ways. Thank goodness for brilliant Indigenous voices trying to push us forwards
-
I agree there is a lot of room for improvement regarding indigenous affairs in Australia. However, many people are doing great work and making a difference. Have a look at
@KorinGamadji They were invited to speak at the United Nations earlier this year. - 1 more reply

So you’re the national racist paper of Australia? Good to know. I’ll assume all your followers are as well.
-
Haven't been to Australia, but I assume Melbourne is major city, expected the city paper to be reflect a more progressive and up-to-date opinion
-
The Herald Sun is one of two newspapers based in Melbourne. It’s a conservative tabloid. Melbourne is much more progressive than what a newspaper makes it out to be.
-
The Herald-Sun is a Murdoch tabloid based in Melbourne. It regularly spins a narrative of racebaiting and has been taken to court in the past because of it.
-
Though make no mistake, our country is definitely still racist as fuck
-
We have a consistent failure both as a nation and on an individual level, to imagine the world complexly and to imagine other people's inherent dignity. Our government and it's policies frequently reflect this too.
