True. Holding gold is mostly a status symbol and even to the point of being a false security blanket. If gold isn't working for you through investment then it will stagnate.

I prefer to hold mine in investments these days.

But you can use the $350 bnet as a "savings" account using my method. With projected gold inflation in bfa you could turn that gold used to make that 350 into even more gold

Definitely. and 350 (with the authenticator) makes a lot of sense. I double checked to make sure there wasn't an expiration date on Blizzard Balance (there isn't in their rules) so it really does end up being a savings account for digital products.

Real question is.. what to do after you have 10 tokens in your bags and $350 in your bnet?

You could create a second 'account' and store another 350 + 10 tokens. Similar to the limit that a bank will put that they only insure up to 250 thousand dollars in an account. You store in another account (http://battle.net is based on an email address)

Of course.. you have to fund that second account, at least part of the time. But holding gold on an inactive account is an interesting option, if you can max it out.

I might have to get a blue post on that one to find out for sure.

Doubt Blizz wants to encourage that... (gets to my earlier point about big fish driving up the prices even further.. like NY real estate).

I can easily see where a black hatted gold goblin could really stick a problem into the system if they converted large amounts of gold into tokens and http://battle.net balance over multiple accounts. With the ability to 'gift' http://battle.net balance it gets messy
