imo Activision is getting too involved in Blizzard stuff, even though they are supposedly 'hands off'. Affecting WoW without effectively touching the game itself is still being involved, although in a roundabout way.

The goal of the WoWToken [after the vanity pet that could be sold for gold was removed from the shop] was, ostensibly, to put the squeeze on gold sellers. However, Activision has leveraged it for profit by making other games buyable via the Token. "Annualizable & exploitable."

I am back to paying for my sub in six month chunks with cash due to the token prices. For how much gold they cost now, I don’t find it worth the time it takes me to make that amount of gold. The AH hasn’t been as profitable for me as in the past, and I have less time to play.

I’m stingy- I know I’ve paid for YEARS in tokens in the past- it helped when I was out of work and then when I worked part time. I think in my mind I know I’ve paid 20-40k for tokens, so the new normal is insane for me even though it’s by far affordable.

Well, since I finally am getting 40 hours a week at work, my playtime has considerably dropped. I’m busy in game, or too tired to play- so my AH time has diminished greatly. I have a lot more competition and less buyers. Something I need to work out still.

So you either have gold to play. Or time. Not both.
