You’re saying that gold is ‘removed from the economy’ but this is incorrect. It’s a transfer of gold. When I buy a token someone received that amount of gold when they sold a token on the AH. I covered this in my blog this week:http://www.wowhead.com/wow-economy-battle-for-azeroth-investments-uldaman-transmog-farming#wow-token-prices …

I do not agree. Gold remains, but "the value of the item" does not. The gold coins are transferred from the seller to the buyer, but they are no longer worth the same amount. They can no longer buy the same value.

pretty sure everything you talked about is the reason the token is there. We just get something more tangible from it now. Before it was a sink that ONLY stayed in game and now you get more value for your gold tbh. I like that I can buy other games or micro transactions.

My initial reaction was exactly what gumdrops said. I'm not sure I fully understand your perspective, let me think on it some more and I'll get back to you.

Perhaps - just perhaps - it isn't the gold token itself that is the problem, but rather the fact that servers with low population have horrid economies that cannot support the price. The difference between my main (high pop) server and my alt (low pop server) is staggering!

What if no servers can do it?

Is botting and duping really that big a problem? I find it hard to believe. Tokens are a luxury, no one is entitled. If you can't afford a sub w/o them, you probably shouldn't be playing wow.
