There are rules in game that are fixed and easy to learn. But you can't go into a store in the city and say "hi, I killed 500 baddies, I'd like your best suit please." In game, women, poc, can just go do the same work, dig the same ore, pick up things from the ground, herbs.

and two people will look at price/value of an item completely differently. And their in-game-gold balance will influence that even further.

I'm gonna get flak for this. I don't care at all about who dates who in real life and so I don't need to know it in WoW either. I know people enjoy imagining video game characters forming relationships. I just never give it a 2nd thought as I inhabit Azeroth.

I love RP. Think of it as being a story writer, director, costumer, and improv actor all at the same time while remaining respectfull of the other actors

yeah, I see a lot of problems stemming form the written word however. Especially in social media, e-mail etc. it's so hard to understand a person's tone or intent without non-verbal reference. Which I understand makes typing more normal and probably more relaxing for you..
