Non-warcraft news, good: I got invited and offered free attendance and a huge Artificial Intelligence conference in Europe Non-warcraft news, bad: I'm very poor. Had to buy some v expensive stuff for eldest son's uni.

Eldest son is going to the UK's best politics course at university next month, including a year in parliament interning. You can expect to see him breaking into UK politics in 2-4 years However his accomodation cost me a bomb.

My AI studies at uni are going well although I had to change my dissertation at the last minute from the creation of a new dataset to the testing of different methods.

I've been sponsored by a grant of credits from Amazon which is a bit surreal but cool.

I may have to put off the PhD for a year. There's money things to organise and some jobs that want me (working at university, or project manager consultant, possibly web dev stuff) but I can't say much online.

Oh the other thing happening to me is I've managed to do some damage to my ankle and that might take a few months to heal. Bleh

Oh no, those are the worst. If you need any tips let me know. I've become an unofficial expert over the years due to my hypermobility. My ankles were the weakest part of my body until I had dedicated physio on them for years.

That would be great. I'm hypermobile but prob not enough for eds dx. Done some "soft tissue damage" so I got to be a little careful not to walk too far. I was previously taking looong uphill walks every day.

They changed it to a spectrum disorder in recent years so that's not uncommon. This test gives you a good idea of how hypermobile you are - https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/assessing-joint-hypermobility/ … I'm a 9/9 for example. I'd need to be officially re-diagnosed as hypermobile EDS but it's a massive hassle.

It's the other stuff that affects me: anaesthetic difficulties, joint pain, scarring, problem in pregnancies, always doing my joints in, especially pelvis and fingers

Then you do have EDS as those are all symptoms specific to EDS. Joint hypermobility is the lowest part of the spectrum is basically what is known as being double jointed - people can do it but it doesn't cause them any problems in life.

I have all that fun stuff too, minus the pregnancy stuff afaik atm (not come up yet!). I also have skin elasticity and very fun moving veins, plus I know for certain it's genetic which is a sure sign that it's EDS.
