I apologize if I ask a stupid question but, I'm curious. We don't really have different varieties like this in my area, there's just hot dogs (all beef, all turkey, or mixed etc). Is there like an ingredient or prep difference for like "American style"?
I think they're just more highly processed, no spices, European appear to be vaguely containing meat and or pepper, mustard etc
@thegoldqueen is right.
It seems that they are ground much heavier than regular hot dogs.
Not sure about the spices but it does make sense.
I can see a future of having my friends sending care packages of 'real hot dogs' in my future.
