We have hot dogs, sausage and bacon and other meats in a large section of the refrigerated area. It's very prevalent in the midwest since there are a lot of hog and cow farms in the midwest. Canned meat and fish are generally 'snack' items or ease of use items for salads.

Hot dogs in a jar are really considered bar food (ala pickles in a jar, veggies in a jar etc) or you will see them in small cans for snack items etc.

“Vienna sausages” are not hot dogs. I’ve never seen a hot dog in a jar like this.
