Agreed... this BS that you can have a "fully functioning" profession so quickly is horrible. I loved it when for herbing you got "petals" rather than full herbs at lower levels. You got SOMETHING but reduced abilities. This is ridiculous.

not just the collection of raw mats, The idea of being able to shred quest rewards for materials unbalanced the gathering system. So that means that to get good gold you either needed to craft/sell high end items, or depend on high end drops ....

I think a combination of things unbalanced the market: 1. That you needed stuff to shred to make DMCs and LOTS of it... 2. The sheer volume of inks (with no useful sinks) created from milling ... *sigh*

agreed on these points. So what would balance the system for the next expansion? I think the shredder can be worked with and not just pitched. Make it give less mats or vended hjunk if you dont have that profession? Material vendor for too many mats (warfronts did (1/2)

1. Get a better balance of profession specific mats are needed for different glyphs/contracts/DMCs... and focus less on things outside of the profession (like shredding) 2. Add back randomization (e.g. Herb #1 can produce 1.3-1.7 X vs Herb # 2 can product 1.6-1.9X...

random herb production will only increase or decrease the amount of time spent farming. The shredder to me was a good idea to offer instead of just vending unused items. But the system was to easily gamed by gold farmers which trickled down the 'tricks' to the player (1/2)

base. There has to be a middle ground to provide and uphold a supply and demand chain between crafters and users. That symbiotic relationship is what gives the economy its stable platform to build other economic issues (2/2)

I agree... but I think they "corrected" too far... DMCs by nature are only used at the beginning of an XPAC for alts.. the other "sink" if I remember correctly was the "ink well" item for the table missions, which apparently was also worthless..

They *always* correct too far. Never a comfortable middle.

generally because instead of tweaking something, they start from scratch with a completely new system.

Yes and historically I tend to see "It's just a bandaid...we want a actual revamp" Soooooo...... yeah.... given time a revamp may happen(9.0 I assume unless the apocalypse happens).
