Not sure how this is in WoW, but in games like league, female players having their accounts boosted by their bf or other men is quite common.

I'm guessing you're trying to say that men also get their accounts boosted. Which is correct; many more men play competitive video games than women. At the top ranks of the ladder, in LoL, I can't think of a single female who got into challenger/masters without a boost.

Not sure I am familiar with every example to be fair. But this stat is very tough to find as Riot doesn't keep public records as far as I'm aware.

So if you don't have numbers, why are you making the argument? The only fact here is that buying account boosts is not unique to women, and therefore is not a valid argument for questioning how a woman got into high ranks.

I've been researching this for my postgrad. I have numbers. It's men. Men buy boosts. Men buy gold. Men want to get ahead to show off.

I sincerely hope your tweet doesn't imply that because the total # of men who have boosted to high ranks is higher than the # of women that that means that women don't need boosts as much as men. That would be just silly for a postgrad to say.

We can only guess why a higher % of men are boosted based on self reporting.
