yes, it is. But it's unreasonable to expect the devs to cater to every person's individual adventure.

It's unreasonable to place barriers on alternative adventures in order to herd the flock to a generic pathway. Ultimately it will turn the game into an eSports cash cow of cut n paste fun.

Blizzard is desperate to hold on to the player base that remains. They made TBC through Legion into "ignore HvA, fight common enemy." They regret it, so are desperately seeking to rekindle that faction pride/war storyline. However, the punch behind that died years ago, IMO.

I'm not even worried about the story - the story changes every expac, and it can change and evolve.. but the mechanics, motivations, rewards in the game.. those changes (and usually take-aways) are what makes no sense to me..

Even from the outside, I can see Blizzard has retconned more & more from what was "lore" to push their marketing for Legion and even BfA. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul isn't a smart solution, IMO. Meanwhile, their changes are making everything a needlessly elongated time-sink.

Rather than allowing players freedom of choice, giving them multiple avenues to do things.. they are doubling down on their EA/Activision "my way or the highway" mentality. The less involved players feel, fewer choices they have, the more harm it does to their former flagship.

To jump in as a gold maker who also gets AotC on every raid tier, runs M+ and plays around in PvP, I dislike the cross currency. When I PvP, I want people who WANT to PvP, not people who are forced to for currency. When I'm running M+, same, I want people who want to push M+.

That's a pure motive. But, Blizzard doesn't care. They've crafted the situation to force ppl who otherwise wouldn't PVP to engage in PVP. Their concern is their metrics [like amount of time played per week] which they tout as "health of the game" rather than report sub numbers.

May be the case, but they're dragging down each area. Hard to have a healthy game when the player base keeps quitting. We went from nearly full raids in Legion to struggling to get 20 in BfA, and that seems like a general trend from people we talk to. People just don't care.

Keep seeing more of this sentiment from good folks who have always been active and invested each expansion.
@Sivation just today for example.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like

Agreed - and I think Legion was a really good expansion, with just a couple kinks.. but BFA has taken a whole scenic route through left field that has me baffled..
