Why I May Soon Quit WoW
I just had to get this off my chest, sorry for the negativity (and poor writing).

Fellow Goldmaker here (retired), so I'm sympathetic to the message, but Goldmakers profit off of PVP'ers on the AH, so it only makes sense that PVP'ers would get to "profit" off Goldmakers in the BG's. Goldmaking is a niche playstlye, hard to believe Blizzard will balance for it.

Sorry but I could not disagree more. We don't simply profit of PVPers (or any other player) we provide a service. While PVPers are off killing each other, we are studying the markets, figuring out what they need, what they want and how much they are willing to pay for it.

Get that 100%. My point is that "Goldmaking" just isn't a bullet point under "content" in the game, and it's so niche that it's hard to expect Blizzard to support it when it's struggling to support it's officially recognized, sanctioned, and "official" content.

And if you'll notice, Blizzard is pretty much forcing cross pollination between player "silos" (PVE/PVP/Pet Battles/WQ's/Transmog Farmers), and goldmakers get caught in the crossfire.

This is kind of the problem tho, Blizz should not be dictating what is and isn't "official/sanctioned" gameplay. Goldmakers have existed since classic (just ask
@thegoldqueen ) and are not as niche as you night think (just ask@GumdropsEU ).3 replies 2 retweets 5 likes -

I would imagine the number of people who play for the single reason of making gold is extremely small... sure it's legit, but that's even close to what the game is at its core, so of course it's not developed around. They're not forcing you to do anything

I would argue that choosing your own adventure is exactly the heart of a rpg.

yes, it is. But it's unreasonable to expect the devs to cater to every person's individual adventure.
